Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED.
Successfully passing the Master Teacher Para Assessment test OR a minimum requirement of 48 college hours.
CPR and First Aid certificates are highly recommended.
All USD 383 employees must pass a background check.
Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed.
Reports To:
Principal/Teacher
Job Duties:
Works with individual students or in small groups to reinforce learning of material or skills first introduced by the teacher.
Reads to students, listens to students read, and participates in other forms of oral communications with students.
Checks notebooks, corrects papers, and supervises testing and make up work, as assigned by the teacher.
Helps students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
Operates equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes and material preparation.
Assists with student supervision during lunch periods, assemblies, play periods, and on field trips.
Maintains the same elevated level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of teachers.
Performs other duties assigned by the teacher.
