Job Title: Substitute Custodian
Job Brief:
- A Sub Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, order, and safety within various school buildings. This position acts as a temporary replacement for the regular custodial staff during their absence due to illness, vacations, or other reasons. The Sub Custodian is an essential member of the custodial team and ensures that the premises are kept in excellent condition for the comfort and well-being of occupants.
Location: District buildings as assigned.
Salary:
Hours per Day:
- Day Shift – 6:00 am – 3:00 pm.
- Evening Shift – 3:00 pm – 12:00 am.
FLSA Status:
Qualifications:
- Must have a driver’s license.
- Ability to read and follow basic operating instructions.
- Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of the tasks assigned.
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs. waist level and 60 lbs. Repetitively.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- All USD383 employees must pass a background check.

Job Duties:
- Substitutes for full and part-time custodians on day or evening shifts.
- Performs the job of custodian and follows his/her work schedule as posted.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
