Job Title: PM Transportation Dispatcher
Job Brief:
- To ensure all school bus routes and activity routes are running in an efficient, timely manner so they present no problems or interruptions to the educational program.

Hours Per Day:
- 9:15 a.m. - 6:15 p.m. (lunch 12-1).
Days Per Year:

Qualifications:
- Graduation from a standard high school (or equivalent).
- Must be able to acquire a Commercial Driver's License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement.
- Requires an elevated level of problem-solving skills, self-initiative, and the ability to work without constant supervision.
- Professional, people-oriented person with proven supervisory skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated success in performing a wide variety of tasks requiring an understanding of bus routes and schedules.
- Must have a good working knowledge of computers, computer programs, and various office equipment.
- Must be able to lift or drag 75 pounds.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination upon employment and every 2 years thereafter.
- Must pass a CPR/First Aid Class as required.
- Must take a Driver Improvement Program course as required.
- Must possess a clean driving record and have never been convicted of a felony, Class A or class B misdemeanor, hit and run, or driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- All USD383 employees must pass a background test.
Reports To:
- Director of Transportation.
- Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on the Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
Job Duties:
- Make sure all bus routes are covered.
- Dispatch school buses from base radio.
- Perform work in a neat and organized manner.
- Invoice and bill groups for field and activity trips as billing secretary.
- Follow work assignments from the Transportation Director and perform any special duties necessary for efficient transportation facility operation.
- Operate school buses as assigned as a substitute driver.
- Work as a team with AM dispatcher.
- Other duties as assigned by director.
