TITLE: Substitute Teacher

- A Substitute License or a valid Kansas Teaching License is required.

REPORTING TO THE PRINCIPAL:
The substitute teacher is required to report to the principal upon arriving for work in order to be informed of specific instructions or requests. Whenever possible allow at least 15 minutes before school or assignment starts.
JOB GOAL: As a substitute teacher you provide an invaluable service to students in the instructional program of Manhattan-Ogden USD 383. While substitute teaching provides actual classroom experiences for you, it is our expectation that classes be as normal and productive as possible.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES:
- Substitute teachers are expected to complete the entire work assignment in order to be compensated for the assigned work period. Early release may be granted by the principal.
- Become familiar with the behavior management plan of the school and that of the teacher for whom you are working. Follow all policies and procedures.
- Dress in a manner that meets the expectations of the assignment, but conveys a professional image and respect for your duties.
- Follow the classroom teacher’s lesson plans and program.
- Accept all classroom and extra duties of the regular teacher.
- Report accidents or illnesses to the principal’s office.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the teacher or building administration.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Certified Teacher Substitute = $18.00/hour
- Emergency Teacher Substitute = $16.00/hour
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
