TITLE: Skilled Maintenance Carpenter/Painter

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years experience as a carpenter or completion of apprenticeship.
  • Ability to use technology such as computers and tablets efficiently.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a CDL driver’s license (for transporting passengers) within 90 days.
  • Must be able to lift 100 lbs. & 60 lbs. repetitively.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO:  Director of Maintenance

 

JOB GOAL: To maintain the physical school plant and grounds in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of them may be made at all times.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform playground inspections twice per year and repair, replace, or remove unsafe playground equipment.
  2. Perform rough and finished construction and estimate costs before project begins.
  3. Attend daily meetings regarding current work orders to help define completion of projects.
  4. Measure and paint football and athletic fields districtwide
  5. Perform all painting throughout the school district.
  6. Provide assistance to other maintenance team members in the areas including but not limited to: welding, mechanics, plumbing, roofing, HVAC, and cleaning.
  7. Assumes responsibility for the safe condition of flooring, door frames, doors, windows, staircases, stair treads, wall paneling, ceilings of all types, hardware, roofs, soffits, guttering, window glazing and similar elements in district buildings.
  8. Does the erecting of scaffolding, formation of concrete forms, and similar structural projects.
  9. Willingness to respond in emergency situations after hours.
  10. Will perform snow removal, general maintenance and other duties as assigned by the supervisor

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

Twelve-month employment.  Salary and work year as established by the Board and Director of Maintenance. This position is eligible for benefits.

 

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
