QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma, degree preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed
JOB GOAL: To help and assist in providing a well organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES:
- Checks and records student attendance.
- Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
- Reads to students, listens to students read, and participates in other forms of oral communication with students.
- Checks notebooks, corrects papers, and supervises testing and make up work, as assigned by the teacher.
- Helps students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
- Keeps bulletin board and other classroom learning displays up to date.
- Operates equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes and for preparation of instructional materials.
- Assists with the supervision of students during lunch periods, assemblies, play periods, and on field trips.
- Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of teachers.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the teacher/principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary as established by the Board. Position dependent upon At Risk Funds.
