Job Title:

  • Assistant Volleyball Coach - Middle School.

Job Brief:

  • The Assistant Volleyball Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach with organizing the volleyball program. Position assists with conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing student athletes in game strategies and techniques. The coach must demonstrate strong leadership in player and staff development, sportsmanship, integrity and character development. Qualified candidates should possess strong communication and organizational skills.

Location:

  • Eisenhower Middle School.

Salary:

  • This position is paid through a stipend.

Hours Per Day:

  • This position is employed from August 19 to October 5.
  • Hours will vary during employment.

Benefits:

  • This position is not eligible for benefits.

FLSA Status:

  • Non-Exempt.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Previous experience as a coach.
  • All USD 383 employees must pass a background check.

Reports To:

  • Head Coach/Athletic Director.

 

Job Duties:

  • Works with the head volleyball coach in overseeing and coordinating the program.
  • Helps head coach in selecting and determining who shall be participants, managers, and student assistants and their lettering criterion.
  • Insures that each athlete turns in a physical examination form before being allowed to participate.
  • Helps the head coach in the supervision of the team from the time school is dismissed until practice is concluded. At all meetings is responsible for the supervision of the team from arrival of members until participants have left school premises.
  • Helps the head coach with the conduct and behavior of the players in the school building property, on the playing field, in the lockers, showers, and gym. Also responsible for care and use of physical plant facilities during use.  Prescribed rules of conduct apply to all road games.
  • Practices should be held on a regular basis during season with the following exceptions: (a) game or meet days: (b) any vacation practices which violate KSHSAA rules; and (c) Sunday practices.
  • Attends KSHSAA Rules Meeting and adheres to rules and regulations of KSHSAA.
  • Reports in writing all injuries to the activities director.
  • Helps the head coach in recommending the ordering of new equipment and supplies to the activities director and for the cleaning, checking of inventory, storing, securing, and repairing of all equipment.
  • Abides by the general policy rules and regulations of USD 383.
