Job Brief:
- We are looking for Child Nutrition staff to join our team! A child nutrition staff member is responsible for food preparation and serving, answering questions, cashiering, and cleaning kitchen area and equipment. If you enjoy interacting with students while providing nutritious meals to our future, and are a team player, this is the job for you!
Location:
- Various school kitchen locations throughout the district.
Salary:
Hours Per Day: Vary by location but are approximately the following:
- Elementary – 7:30 am - 2:00 pm
- Secondary – 6:30 am - 2:00 pm
Days Per Year:
- Position available during the regular school year.
- Option for summer employment.

Qualifications:
- Cooperative attitude when working with a team.
- Willingness to work individually on assigned tasks.
- Must be able to read, write and follow oral instructions.
- Must complete training in quantity food preparation, proper equipment uses, and required sanitary practices.
- Must have the ability to stand and work for extended periods of time.
- Must complete required annual trainings and have the willingness to take advantage of other continuing education/training.
- Must be able to lift and carry 15 to 20 pounds or more.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
Reports To: Kitchen Manager
Job Duties:
- A child nutrition staff member must be patient, attentive and have excellent decision-making skills.
- A child nutrition staff member must follow the assigned schedule and check in with the supervisor on completion of daily duties.
- A child nutrition staff member must serve student meals in a fast and friendly atmosphere.
- A child nutrition staff member must be responsible for checking/cleaning own area to meet the standards of food safety.
- A child nutrition staff member must follow guidelines to ensure correct serving temperature and adequate portion control and quality of products.
- Other duties as assigned.
